Netley Marsh Steam Show

I’ve been meaning to go for years, but never quite got around to paying the Netley Marsh Steam Show a visit until today.

Arriving a little later in the afternoon had two benefits., most people were leaving, and unexpectedly there was no one on the gate to collect money so we were able to walk on in for free.  Bonus!

Wild Horses

I’ve been to the New Forest probably hundreds of times, but never before today have I seen the horses (ponies?) running around in almost a stampede like way.

We were just outside Beaulieu and I was in the middle of a photoshoot with a fitness model.  She was changing in the car so I took my chance to snap a few shots of the horses running around.

These are my favourites.

A Wedding fayre with a difference

My favourite florists are organising their very own wedding fayre.

I’ve known the mother and daughter team behind Floral Enchantment for some time now.  I’ve worked a fashion show on the Beaulieu estate and a wedding at Rhinefield House with them.   It quickly became clear to me that they are as passionate about all that flowery stuff as I am with my photo stuff.

So when they invited me to be a part of the wedding fayre they were organising I jumped at the chance.

Floral Enchantment are coordinating a unique Wedding event, using local specialist businesses that offer that little something different as well as a bespoke service.

Our vision is that each bride to be receives a customer focused, luxurious and relaxed visit to a wedding fayre with a difference.  There will be a small entrance fee, which will  entitle each person a glass of champagne to enjoy whilst perusing the stands.

We visualize this Wedding Fair being very different to any of the current Wedding fairs, with an emphasis on luxury, something different with a more bespoke approach. We want you to come to the Wedding Fayre and see some exhibitors that will put that extra Wow factor into your special day.

The Wedding fayre is on Saturday 13th March 2010 11am – 3pm.  Hotel TerraVina, 174 Woodlands Road, Woodlands, Southampton, SO40 7GL”

I will be there all day on the 13th March.  Please pop in and say hello!

Trash the chicken?

This is my favourite picture from a trash the dress photoshoot with bride Libby. I’d had the pleasure of photographing Libby & Richards wedding and our follow-up shoot came several months later.  The chicken belonged to the happy couple.

Snow in the New Forest

So a little bit of a bonus today.  Not just one photo of the day, but four.

These photos were taken this morning at Bolton’s Bench, opposite the Lyndhurst Park Hotel in the New Forest after the networking breakfast meeting.  The snow started to fall again quite heavily during the meeting and after I gingerly made my way across the car park to take a few snaps.

As you can see it wasn’t quite the apocalypse the weather forecasters had warned with barely 2cm of white stuff on the ground.  It did look rather pretty though.

Fashion Photography in New Forest, Hampshire

It’s not often I shoot fashion, but this autumn I collaborated with model and former racing driver Sophie Fisher for an autumnal fashion shoot near Lyndhurst in the New Forest.

It was a bitterly cold and foggy morning but we managed to do five outfit changes before retreating for a hot mug of hot chocolate the Lyndhurst Park Hotel.

If you are a designer, or have some clothing you’d like photographed on location then please think of me, Michael Palmer, Fashion Photographer in Hampshire!
