A photoshoot with a biker

I’ve been doing my character photoshoots for sometime now, but a couple of weeks ago I had the idea to offer the character shoots to bikers.

So, somewhere in the depths of Leicestershire down a quiet country lane I did my first biker character shoot.

My model for the afternoon was Tina.  Thanks Tina for being my first!

Would you like to be photographed with your bike?  The cost is just £99 and you get a 10×8 print included.

A new character

I don’t need a fancy studio. This set of photos of Jacquie was shot on location on the third level of the Bargate multi-storey car park in Southampton.

I’d parked there the day before and noticed how quiet it was, but more importantly I loved how the sunlight was bouncing off the white walls creating a natural reflector.

Not exactly the most glamorous of locations, but it’s the end result that counts.  I’m really pleased with this set of photos.

After the shoot I walked up to my favourite camera shop, London Camera Exchange where I helped Jacquie buy her first digital slr, a Nikon D3000.  Even with me being a Canon man, it was the right choice.  With a 2 year guarantee and with the Canon equivalent D1000 feeling very cheap and plastic like, even I would have chosen the Nikon if I was buying my first proper camera.

Women can be characters as well

Last week I shot my first female character shoot with Lesley-Anne Hornbogen from On The Go.

We shot at the lovely Homewood Park hotel near Bath. The last time I was there was to shoot the wedding reception of Alice & Jules.

It was raining so we shot in inside while drinking tea using just natural light from the window.

Character Photoshoots

Something a little bit different to the standard business portrait I’ve been doing for the last few months.

“Characters” is what I’m calling it, and you can find some samples below.

Essentially we’ll shoot a series of photos, with different expressions, looks, outfits, accessories etc and you’ll end up with 9-10 images that you’ll receive individually and also as part of a montage.

The idea behind it is that it brings out a bit more of your character, so of course Brad bought his pizza box, Kim made lots of silly faces, Jorge bought a camera, and for mine i took my silly hat, shades and a camera…   So bring something along that reflects who you are.

The introductory price for these until mid August is just £60.  After which it’ll go up to £90.
